Sowohl von innen wie von außen bleibt der Grundriss eines Gebäudes latent unsichtbar. Trotzdem ist er ein spezifisch strukturiertes Bild, das mit einer Handlungsanweisung verknüpft ist. Der Blick auf den Grundriss ist der Blick auf die Struktur, jenseits der Oberflächen, der Convenience und der Symbole. Es ist der Blick auf eine opake Transparenz.

Ausgehend von dem Satz der Architektin Lucy Hillebrand, dass sie „schon davon geträumt (habe), dass Grundrisse über den Gebäuden schweben“ fragt das Rechercheprojekt Hidden Lines of Space:
Was bedeutet ein Ort? Welche Bewegungen und Bewegungsabläufe, welche sozialen Beziehungen und welches Denken unterstützt er? Welches Menschenbild trägt ein Grundriss in sich und wer hat ihn für wen gemacht?

Das langfristig angelegte Projekt zielt darauf die Wahrnehmung der semantischen Eigenheiten von Grundriss und Grundrisszeichnung und die enthalten politischen, psychologischen und performativen Dimensionen aus der Perspektive der Bildenden Kunst zu schärfen. Im Rahmen des Salons werden Anfänge und Ansätze der bisherigen Recherchearbeit gezeigt.

Ground – Plan – Space. From The Miracle of the Snow to Dogville

Viewed either from the outside or the inside, the floor plan of a building invariably remains invisible, latent. Nevertheless, it is a specific, constructed image connected to a set of instructions. A look at the floor plan is a look at the structure beyond surfaces, convenience and symbols. It is a look at opaque transparency.

Based on a saying by the architect, Lucy Hillebrand, which states that she „(had) even dreamed that the floor plans of buildings floated above the structures themselves“, the research project Hidden Lines of Space poses the questions: Was does a place signify? Which movements, sequences of movements and what kind of thinking does it support? Which concept of humanity is inherent to a floor plan and who designed it for whom?

This long-term project is geared towards honing our perception of the semantic peculiarities of the floor plan and the drawing of such plans, as well as their inherent political, psychological and performative dimensions from the point of view of the fine arts. The beginnings and the approaches of our prior existing research will be presented as part of the salon evening.
