It has been aptly remarked that a central aspects of Allamoda’s work is tension. This is true both in terms of content as well as in a material sense. Pushing and pulling, stretching, and rotating are trademarks of her sculptures, playfully used to analyze and expose hidden politics of visibility that are inscibed into the surfaces of popular cultural phenomena such as fashion, art and architecture.
